- There are four critical times available. These cause automatic changes
- in the way that the register is marked at different times in the day.
- The first critical time is usually set early in the morning. Before this
- time, clicking select registers the student present adjust absent, menu
- has no effect. After this time but before the second critical time
- clicking select marks late and stores the name of the student and time
- logged in in a file called late. Adjust converts an absence to late
- and vice versa. Presents can't be changed to absence or late. The menu
- button on the mouse has a special function. It puts an A in the
- student register and records the name and time of the student logging out in
- a file called out. Clicking menu again logs the student back in putting an
- R in the student register and recording the name and login time in a file
- called in.
-
- After the second critical time which is about mid-day the select
- button will cause pm to be displayed and a further click marks the
- student present for the pm session without altering the morning status
- a further click resets pm to blank (in case of mistakes). If the
- screen is re-drawn after displaying a list of log outs for example the
- morning status will be displayed, but the pm status just set
- preserved. An absence can not now be exchanged for a late and the menu
-
- Press shift for more...
-
- button works as previously for log in and out.
-
- After the next critical time, the next time the screen is up-dated, it
- will display the pm data. Any student present in the morning, marked
- late or R for returned log-out will automatically be marked present.
-
- After the fourth critical time no data can be changed.
